Thora is a Scottish painter-printmaker working from her home studio. She taught part-time until 1993 at the Edinburgh

and Travel Award.
She has exhibited regularly with the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Scottish Society of Watercolour Painters and the
Scottish Society of Women Artists, of which she was a member, and in many shows in Great Britain and overseas.
Travel yields Thora much inspiration, notably France, Italy and Romania. She also responds to themed competitions
e.g London Lives – Travel 2011 at the Bankside Gallery, for which she created an acrylic painting of Venice. She is interested in depicting the colours of foliage and flowers in her country garden and her cat inspire many pictures. She delights in doing commissions for patrons with gardens and pets. She derives ideas from the land of her birth, Caithness, which she paints in oil and watercolour.
